KCI Hosts Dispute Management Webinar

On March 31, William G. Frey and Robert J. MacPherson, of Gibbons P.C., a leading law firm in New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, and Delaware, presented “Killer Clauses: Effective Dispute Management for Field Staff” as part of KCI’s Project Manager Development Program. The presentation took take place in KCI’s office, and via webinar, and and served to enhance the knowledge of our CM field personnel and clients in understanding the legal concepts of administering construction contracts and how to effectively apply this knowledge to solve issues in real project situations.
William G. Frey has over 25 years of complex business litigation experience, focusing his practice in the following areas: construction, real estate development, insurance coverage, products liability and administrative agency practice. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Construction Law, 2011.
Frey has tried, arbitrated or mediated construction disputes involving office buildings, hospitals, mixed use projects, hotels, power plants, shopping centers, residential subdivisions, highways, parking garages, bridges, apartment complexes and warehouses. He has handled construction matters for both public and private owners and developers as well as contractors, designers and surety companies. The disputes include delay damage claims, contract terminations, project administration, unforeseen site conditions, risk management of construction disputes, change orders, mechanics’ liens, and breach of standard of care under architects and engineer’ agreements and design-build agreements.
Robert J. MacPherson is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers and former Chair of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. He has extensive experience in construction matters, focusing his practice on drafting and negotiating all manner of contracts relating to construction projects and the resolution, through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation in State and Federal Courts of construction disputes.
MacPherson has represented public and private owners, building and heavy construction contractors, major equipment manufacturers, subcontractors and design professionals. His projects include transportation, health care, schools, commercial, housing, retail and marine construction. MacPherson has been lead counsel in disputes involving contract termination (both prosecuting on behalf of owners and defending on behalf of contractors), liens, surety bonds, extra work claims, defective work claims, scheduling and delays.
