ASHE Cuyahoga Valley Recognizes South Main Street Project

The Cuyahoga Valley Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers recognized KCI's South Main Street Roadway Improvement with a 2012 Outstanding Highway Project Award in their over $3 million category. Completed for the city of Akron, the project involved one mile of pavement replacement and reconstruction in support of a new state-of-the-art technical center planned by Bridgestone America. Challenges included environmental reviews at numerous adjacent properties, steep roadway profiles, and extensive public involvement required for utility relocations, right-of-way acquisitions and access management.
