Harpers Ferry Train Station Honored by AIA Baltimore

In the January issue of their monthly association magazine, the American Institute of Architects Baltimore Chapter honored the Harpers Ferry Train Station restoration with honorable mention in their annual Excellence in Design Awards. KCI provided electrical, site/civil and structural engineering services to the lead design-build contractor, Lumus Construction. Originally built in 1889, the station currently serves Amtrak and Maryland commuter rail lines. KCI's work focused on the parking lot, with emphasis on safety and circulation improvements, drainage, as well as upgrading existing historic lighting and railing fixtures.
