ICBN to Promote Resource Sharing, Interoperability

Maryland’s Inter-County Broadband Network will connect hundreds of institutional and community facilities, promote inter-governmental resource sharing across multiple jurisdictions and facilitate public safety interoperable communications. KCI is the only firm holding contracts for both design and construction services for this fiber-optic network, which is part of the statewide One Maryland Broadband Network, a $115 stimulus project through the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s Broadband Technology Opportunities Program.
