KCI Honored Among Industry's Best Workplaces
April 22, 2009
Sparks, MD
KCI Technologies Inc., a multi-disciplined engineering firm with offices in the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, has been selected by Building Design + Construction (BD+C) magazine as one of the best firms to work for. BD+C is a leading publication for the vertical design and construction industry. Featured in the magazine’s April issue, KCI was chosen as part of their annual awards competition and joins a select group of leading architecture, engineering and construction firms to have earned the honor.
“I am extremely proud and pleased for our employee-owners, whose commitment to the firm and to each other is what made this award possible,” said Chairman and CEO Terry Neimeyer. “Even during these hard times, our culture of employee ownership and open communication endures as we face new challenges together.”
Since 2006, BD+C has solicited nominations from industry leading firms who excel in creating positive workplaces and who nurture and develop their employees. In selecting award winners, the magazine’s editors consider innovative recruitment and retention practices, professional development programs, social and environmental responsibility, the workplace environment, extraordinary compensation and benefits practices, profitability and business sustainability, and public perception of the firm.
Among eleven companies selected from an international pool of candidates, KCI was recognized for its open corporate culture, extensive training and career development programs and commitment to industry leadership, community outreach and environmental responsibility.
KCI is an engineering, consulting and construction firm serving clients throughout the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, as well as other parts of the U.S. and beyond. With revenues of approximately $142 million in 2008, KCI is ranked 88 on the Engineering News-Record's list of the top 500 engineering firms in the country. More than 950 KCI employee owners provide environmental, transportation, telecommunications, construction, facilities, and land development services from over two dozen locations.
