Maryland Section of USGBC Honors Robinson Nature Center

The Maryland Section of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) honored the Robinson Nature Center with an Award for Best Sustainability Project of the Year for New Construction and the People’s Choice Award at their WinterGreen Awards Banquet on January 26 in Hanover, Md. The project was also recognized by Associated Builders and Contractors with an Excellence in Construction Award.
Highlighted in the summer issue of the Innovator, the 23,000-square-foot Robinson Nature Center was designed and built to meet USGBC’s highest level of certification, LEED Platinum. KCI provided construction management and inspection services for the premier Howard County facility, which features a host of green technologies, including geothermal heating and cooling system, solar panels and a vegetated green roof.
