KCI Appoints Floyd as Transportation Discipline Manager, Executive Vice President

KCI Technologies Inc. promoted Harvey M. Floyd, PE, to executive vice president and named him Transportation Discipline manager. Working out of KCI’s headquarters in Sparks, Md., he is responsible for management and direction of the firm’s transportation planning and design efforts companywide.

“Harvey has spent most of his career with KCI, much of it managing various aspects of the firm’s transportation practice,” said President Nathan J. Beil, PE. “He is respected by employees, peers and clients as a strong technical leader and seasoned manager, and will guide our transportation discipline to prosperity as the nation’s economy recovers and the industry rebounds.”

Floyd joined KCI in 1985 as a project engineer and was later promoted to vice president and chief of the structures division. In 1995, he was promoted to senior vice president and appointed head of KCI’s Mid-Atlantic transportation market, serving clients in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. In 2007, Floyd was named chief client services officer, where he developed and implemented the firm’s ISO 9001:2008 certified quality management system.

He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1978, and an M.B.A. from Loyola University Maryland in 1989. Floyd is Chairman of the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Political Action Committee and treasurer of the Maryland Chapter’s Political Action Committee. He also serves on the board of trustees for the Baltimore Museum of Industry.
