KCI Launches Risk Engineering Subsidiary
December 20, 2007
Hunt Valley, MD
KCI Technologies Inc., a multi-disciplined engineering firm with offices in the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, has announced the launch of a new subsidiary, KCI Protection Technologies LLC (KCI-PT). Created to enhance and diversify the firm’s service offerings, the new business line provides specialized engineering services for security, fire protection, risk analysis, life safety and emergency management.
The new company was formed through the acquisition of Risk Management Consultants Inc. (RMC), a Delaware firm founded in 1985. It is headed by RMC’s former president, John C. Fannin III, CPP, a 30-year veteran of the risk management industry. According to Fannin, defending against foreseeable losses has become one of today’s significant challenges for many organizations, and KCI-PT’s mission is to mitigate these losses by providing technical, scientific and management expertise for the protection of people, property, information and organizational missions.
“There is a growing need for businesses to protect themselves in ways that they didn’t have to in the past, as a result of globalization, rapid advances in technology and other factors that make us increasingly vulnerable,” said KCI Chairman and CEO Terry F. Neimeyer, PE. “Launching this business makes a lot of sense for a company like ours, which has been finding innovative ways to apply engineering and other technologies to new markets for more than 55 years.”
The new subsidiary’s professional staff includes engineers, scientists, analysts and assessors. Specific products and services include strategic advising, technical assistance, engineering design, conformity assessment, software and information resources, program development, and specialized training and education.
KCI-PT is headquartered in Wilmington, Del., and serves clients worldwide. For more information about KCI-PT, call 302-479-7000, e-mail protection@kci-pt.com.
