04/20/2016 KCI has promoted Carolyn D. Roberts, CCP, to chief human resources officer. She will leverage her 30 years of experience working within the field to manage the firm’s Human Resources department. She replaces Tammy M. Jones, PHR, who is retiring after 11 years with KCI. Roberts has served as assistant director of human resources since joining KCI in 2008.
KCI provided project management and design services to replace the existing two-lane structure carrying US 21 over the Catawba River with a 1,000-foot-long, four-lane steel beam bridge. During construction, contractor Lane Construction worked with KCI in designing a lifting frame system to launch 60-ton girders laterally from the existing bridge, avoiding impacts to the river and uncertainty associated with mobilizing barge mounted cranes over the shallow river bottom.
