US 21 Bridge over the Catawba River

KCI provided project management and design services to replace the existing two-lane structure carrying US 21 over the Catawba River with a 1,000-foot-long, four-lane steel beam bridge. During construction, contractor Lane Construction worked with KCI in designing a lifting frame system to launch 60-ton girders laterally from the existing bridge, avoiding impacts to the river and uncertainty associated with mobilizing barge mounted cranes over the shallow river bottom.

Pfeil and Good Expand KCI’s Planning Capabilities

KCI is pleased to announce that land planners Debbie Pfeil and Lauren Good, AICP have joined the firm’s office in Dover as part of KCI’s Delaware Land Development Practice. Pfeil manages the planning department and Good serves as a project planner. Together, they are charged with creating a center of excellence for comprehensive planning services and will lead project execution, management, and business development efforts for municipal planning work throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
