Susquehanna River Bridge Replacement
|
KCI provided construction management, materials testing, environmental monitoring and public involvement services for the $150 million replacement of the original 4,526-foot Susquehanna River Bridge (SRB). We reviewed baseline and update schedules for consistency and compliance with the project manual for three of the project’s construction contracts, including demolition of the existing bridge, construction of the new dual-bridge structure, reconstruction of the approaching roadway, and improvements to the ramps and toll plaza at the Harrisburg East Interchange. Our public involvement specialists developed and maintained a project Web site throughout construction and worked with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission in the planning and production of SRB Community Day, which featured a 5K run, a one-mile walk, and a kids fun-run across the newly constructed bridge.
