Frederick County Street Centerline and Addressing

KCI designed and implemented an integrated addressing and street centerline data system to support the county’s most critical GIS applications, including 911 dispatch, emergency response, school bus routing, planning and development activities, and infrastructure management. We developed a central address database within a GIS/RDBMS environment to provide a complete, countywide list of individual addresses with their geographic locations. The database was closely integrated with the county’s existing master street names, address assignment and centerline update processes. A unified, central centerline file was generated that meets the needs of various county departments and emergency responders, and also supports coordination and data sharing with state agencies.
