As part of the environmental mitigation program for the $2.4 billion Woodrow Wilson Bridge project, KCI developed and implemented a program to restore 26 miles of historic fish spawning habitat by removing or modifying 23 man-made barriers to fish passage in five major streams. We conducted national and international research, developed and calibrated new hydrologic models, and prepared designs to introduce untested, natural fish passage structures into the streams, many of which traverse sensitive parklands.
