Bonita Springs Tower Repair
|
Hurricane force winds caused this 700-foot guyed radio tower to lose a ground wire and become bowed in the middle. To keep the tower standing, KCI analyzed the structure to determine the extent of the damage. In addition to two new anchor replacements, the tower needed to be reguyed, and 160 feet of the tower needed to be removed to make it structurally sound and code compliant. Our crews stabilized and re-plumbed the tower, and enlisted a helicopter in removing 20-foot sections, each weighing about 1,200 pounds, until a structurally safe height of 540 feet was reached. |
