KCI provided design services for two triangular steel towers—89 feet and 99 feet in height—for the purpose of mounting beacon lights for a maritime navigation channel at the military ocean terminal in Sunny Point. Services included locating the two towers based on U.S. Coast Guard criteria, calculating required heights based on tidal data, surveying, and final verification of location. We designed the pile foundation, electrical system, lighting protection and grounding, and provided overall tower design coordination including custom designed brackets for mounting the beacons.
