KCI combined our transportation and utility engineering expertise to successfully complete the streetscape revitalization design for Main Street in the historic town of Elkton. We prepared conceptual and preliminary detail-build plans in a fast-track 10-week schedule. Engineers developed designs to take overhead phone, cable and electrical systems connected to existing pole lines, and move them underground. To facilitate coordination, KCI functioned as a liaison and representative of the State Highway Administration and the utility companies to ensure that all project stakeholders—including the town of Elkton, its residents and business owners—were on board with the project.
