The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Nashville chapter recently honored several KCI projects (through our recent acquisition of RPM Transportation Consultants) with industry awards.
TDEC and TDOT recognized the Knox County Walk to School Improvement project with a 2017 Tennessee Sustainable Transportation Award. The awards are presented to outstanding transportation initiatives that help improve efficiency, accessibility, affordability and sustainability in the State. In an effort to increase opportunities for walking and biking to and from schools in the district, our team implemented an innovative GIS analysis to develop walk-to-school trip estimates. Engineers then used this data to prioritize the greatest pedestrian needs for all schools in the Knox County School system and recommended plans for safety improvements.
ULI Nashville honored three RPM projects at their 9th annual Excellence in Development Awards Gala in May. These awards are presented to outstanding real estate projects that demonstrate exemplary design, creativity in land use, sustainability and commitment to the community. Thompson Nashville and 35 Music Square East won awards in the Private Sector – Large Project category, and 8 C1TY Blvd in oneC1TY received the Excellence in Development Building Healthy Places award. Our team provided traffic and parking analysis for each of these real estate projects.
