Underwater Inspection

KCI offers comprehensive engineering and inspection services for facilities located in, near or in contact with water, including bridges, piers, water tanks, sub-aqueous pipelines and coastal structures. We understand that the underwater environment can be particularly harsh on structures, posing unique challenges to inspectors who must evaluate scour, material conditions or construction. Our inspection teams include professional engineers, dive-certified by the Association of Diving Contractors, the U.S. Navy or both. Employing professional engineers and experienced divers allows our inspection teams to see and feel, firsthand, the conditions of the structures in often limited- or zero-visibility conditions. After evaluating underwater structural features firsthand, we determine the probable causes of failures and follow up with recommendations for remedial action. We have worked with government agencies, design firms, contractors, developers and property owners to conduct condition assessments, required periodic inspections, hydrographic surveys and construction oversight.
