2005-06 Corporate Charity: Habitat for Humanity
A Christian organization that works with peoples of all faiths to provide home ownership opportunities for people in need. The organization is known and respected for its requirement that aid recipients participate in the renovation work.
KCI’s participation in the program can include monetary donations as well as volunteer work, providing opportunities to contribute for employees of all income levels. As an organization, Habitat for Humanity is instantly recognizable, and KCI’s affiliation would only enhance corporate profile.
Arrow Project—Katrina—KCI and its employee owners donated $18,280 in September to Arrow Project—Katrina, a relief fund for hurricane victims.
The KCI Sons and Daughters Scholarship Program was recently established to award four $2,500 scholarships each year to the children or grandchildren of KCI employees. Recipients of the 2005 scholarships included: Katie Brewer, daughter of Barbara Randall, Atlanta office; Joel Brown son of Charity Brown, Hunt Valley Mechanical/Electrical Division; Samantha Powell daughter of Karen Powell, Hunt Valley Water Resources Division; and Kiri Thompson, daughter of Dean Thompson, Richmond Office.
