At their annual training and recognition day on May 13, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) presented Vice President Steve Carl with a Certificate of Appreciation honoring KCI’s structural engineering work completed on the I-95/I-495/MD Route 210 interchange, which is part of the overall Woodrow Wilson Bridge Replacement project.
The certificate reads:
The exemplary efforts of KCI and their team of subconsultants have resulted in an outstanding group of interchange structures, including some very difficult technical solutions. In addition to their excellent technical and managerial skills, the KCI team exemplified a sense of partnership with SHA and the General Engineering Consultant throughout the design process that reflects the truest sense of the word.
KCI prepared the preliminary and final design plans for the reconstruction of the I-95/I-295/MD 210 interchange as part of the approach roadway improvements associated with the replacement of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. The project included nine bridges, nearly two miles of retaining wall and one mile of noise wall.
