President's Message (Winter 1997)

Dear Friends:

“Knowledge, Creativity, Innovative Ideas.” These four words epitomize KCI and KCI’s mission. During the past year, our strategic planning has focussed on KCI’s driving forces and our two most important assets, our clients and staff.

KCI has conducted strategic planning for several years, but this year, we took it to a new level, by projecting powerful visions of key operating areas and developing clear, energizing strategies for achieving goals. Our planning has produced exciting initiatives, with two primary goals: Train KCI’s people to be more talented than they were a year ago; and apply technical expertise in market areas we wish to strengthen.

In July, we ended our most successful fiscal year of the decade. With healthy local economies in our Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Delaware, and Virginia markets, we have prospered. As part of our 1998 Business Plan, we are launching a new environmental construction division that promises rapid growth. KCI owes this success to our clients, who continue to show confidence in our talented staff and firm. As we approach the New Year, KCI is striving to improve our level of service, and with your participation, we will continue applying innovative technologies to meet new challenges.
