Awards (Summer 2003)

Mark S. Richmond, PE, (third from right) represents KCI at FHWA's 2003 Environmental Excellence Awards reception in D.C.On April 22, the Federal Highway Administration presented its 2003 Excellence in Wetlands and Water Quality Award to the Maryland State Highway Administration for its Stormwater Management Facilities and NPDES Program, recognizing KCI as a project contributor. The award cited the program’s “environmental stewardship in the areas of best management practices, enhancements to visual and functional quality, state of the art inspection and data management technology, training, partnering, and unprecedented maintenance and remediation techniques.”

In May, the ESOP Association—a national organization of companies with employee stock ownership plans—presented KCI with the Runner-up Award for Communication Excellence in the category of Special Events and Promotions for KCI’s 2003 Anniversary Calendar (with CD).
