Diamonds are a Road's Best Friend

During three weeks in early August, motorists along a one-mile stretch of Milltown Road, just west of Route 7 in Newark, DE, maneuvered past a diamond-grinding caravan, smoothing the rough areas left by recent concrete patching operations. KCI inspectors kept a watchful eye on the grinder, which is sandwiched between vacuum and water trucks, and conducted testing to ensure the work met profilographic specifications. KCI’s Albert C. Jannette is managing the project, under a three-year open-end agreement with the Delaware Department of Transportation.
