Former President George H. W. Bush joined KCI Inspectors Chris Dupont (far left) and Gerry Rensch (far right) in front of the White House, as crews continue work on a new pedestrian plaza on Pennsylvania Avenue. Mr. Bush requested a brief progress report before offering to take a photo with the project team.

KCI inspectors have been working around the clock on behalf of the Federal Highway Administration since January, overseeing the $25 million project to replace roadway and concrete barriers with a 900-foot, landscaped pedestrian walkway on a section of street closed for security reasons.
