Friends:
In the first ten months of calendar year 2000, KCI has exceeded all targets for growth and profitability. Our project managers, engineers, planners, scientists, construction managers, surveyors, and administrative staff are driving this success, finding ever-efficient ways to deliver more projects on schedule, within budget, and without sacrificing quality—no small task in a generally tight labor market.
The company’s growth has challenged us to develop a new Information Management System, which we hope to have on line in 2001-02. The new system—conceived during KCI’s participation in a four-day Peer Review, sponsored by ACEC—will provide “real-time” information on schedules and budgets. Where we once waited a week for the system to close before pulling data, we’ll soon have numbers at our fingertips, which will help us manage projects more efficiently.
In the community, you may have seen our employees collecting books at Camden Yards for the Reading, Runs, and Ripken adult literacy program; walking to fund Juvenile Diabetes research; or baking goods to benefit the Johns Hopkins Oncology Center on behalf of KCI’s Jazzercise participants. We challenge our friends and colleagues to give of their time and talents. Together, our individual efforts can make a difference.
