Setting Bridge Beams in the Nation's Capital

In the shadow of the Washington Monument, on the evening of January 29th, workers set pre-cast, prestressed concrete beams for a bridge carrying Jefferson Drive over 12th Street Expressway in Washington, D.C. KCI Associates of the District of Columbia designed structural engineering plans; prepared construction specifications; provided surveying services; and conducted field investigations as part of the bridge rehabilitation project, under a contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division.
