In May, the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) named KCI President, CEO, and Chairman Terry F. Neimeyer, PE, a Fellow of the organization. The award recognizes Neimeyer’s contribution to the advancement of consulting engineering through administrative leadership, design, science, education, publications, or service to the profession. Neimeyer is a Fellow and former president of ACEC/MD and currently serves as vice chair of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.
In May, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Maryland Section, presented KCI Structural Engineer Amanda D. Schindhelm, PE, with the 2004 Edmund Friedman Young Engineer of the Year Award. The honor recognizes Schindhelm’s contributions to the profession and enthusiastic work in organizing engineering challenges for students, mentoring young people, and volunteering as a firefighter and emergency medical technician.
On March 9th, the National Capital Chapter of the Construction Management Association of America presented KCI with its 2003 Project Achievement Award (constructed value less than $10 million category) for its work on the renovation and two-story addition to the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, in Glen Burnie, MD. KCI Resident Engineer Erin Shaffer, EIT, accepted the award.
