Professional Notes (Summer 2000)

On May 5th, KCI President & CEO Terry F. Neimeyer, PE, was honored by the University of Delaware as an Outstanding Civil Engineering Alumnus (Class of ‘77). Terry has been named vice president of the Consulting Engineers Council of Maryland for 2000-2001. He also has been appointed incoming chairman of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce.

Terry joined Senior Vice President Charles A. Phillips, Jr., RPLS, (Site Engineering & Surveys Group) on the Mayoral Management and Efficiency Review Project Team, sponsored by the Greater Baltimore Committee. Terry served on the committee reviewing practices and policies for the Department of Public Works; Chuck worked with the committee on General Services.

Johns Hopkins University has named Environmental Division Chief Thomas G. Sprehe, PE, to the Advisory Board and Academic Program Committee for the Graduate Part-time Program in Environmental Engineering and Science at the Whiting School of Engineering.

On June 2, more than 100 junior and senior managers attended KCI’s 6th Annual Project Management Academy in Timonium, MD. The managers attended negotiation workshops, conducted by Shapiro Negotiations Institute; learned financial aspects of consulting; and participated in roundtable discussions with clients on customer satisfaction.

As part of KCI’s Advanced Leadership Initiative, Senior Vice President Nathan J. Beil, PE, (Environmental Engineering Group) is attending the six-week Executive Program through the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
