HUNT VALLEY, MD—KCI Technologies, Inc., a Hunt Valley, MD-based engineering firm with offices throughout the mid-Atlantic and Southern United States, has appointed Patricia J. (PJ) Mitchell to the firm’s Board of Directors. Mitchell is vice president of Global Sales and Operations for IBM Global Services, where she leads the worldwide sales community for IBM’s consulting and services organization.

KCI President, CEO, and Chairman Terry F. Neimeyer, PE, welcomed Mitchell to KCI’s Board, noting her expertise in strategic planning and sales. “PJ is one of the top executives in Maryland, and KCI will benefit from her experience in securing strategic, competitive advantages through better customer relationships.”

Neimeyer added that Mitchell, like many of KCI’s employee owners, is dedicated to making a difference in the community. “Community service is an important part of KCI’s corporate culture, and PJ reflects that spirit of contribution through her leadership of the Woman’s Initiative for the United Way of Central Maryland and her prominent role in women’s philanthropy.”

In her new role as a KCI director, Mitchell hopes to add a global perspective to KCI’s strategic outlook. “KCI is among the top 100 firms in the country, but it is also ranked among the top 150 design firms in the world,” said Mitchell. “It’s a high-energy, well-run organization that is working on great projects, like the Baltimore-Washington Maglev system and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Replacement. My role will be to help sharpen the company’s focus on differentiation and growth through client relationships by applying principles tested in an international market.”

Mitchell is a graduate of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees. She also serves as a board member of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, the Center Club, and as a Governing Member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
