FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HUNT VALLEY, MD, August 27, 2008—KCI Technologies Inc., a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm with offices in the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, announced today the acquisition of Ohio firm McCoy Associates Inc.

With sales exceeding $3.5 million last year, McCoy will conduct business for KCI Associates of Ohio, P.A., a KCI Technologies affiliate, beginning September 1. McCoy’s 38 employees will continue serving the Ohio Department of Transportation and various state, municipal and private-sector clients from their current offices in Akron and Warren, Ohio.

“This is a great opportunity for us to grow and diversify our services,” said KCI Technologies President Nathan J. Beil, PE. “We’ve worked with McCoy and know they have a solid reputation and a good staff. This will provide us with additional resources in that region, and McCoy’s clients and employees will benefit from the vast service offerings and geographic reach of a much larger firm. It’s a good deal for everyone.”

KCI and McCoy are familiar with each other, having partnered on various projects, including a current construction inspection job in West Virginia and design work for the city of Akron. The service offerings of both firms include transportation, site development, construction management, environmental engineering, and resource management. Mitchell A. McCoy, PE, who has served as president of the 20-year-old Ohio firm since 2000, will lead KCI’s Ohio operations.

A 1980 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in civil engineering, McCoy is a registered professional engineer in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana and Delaware. He recently completed a term as president of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Ohio, where he remains a member of the board. He has also served as president of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Akron District.
