Lucas brings more than 23 years of experience to KCI

HUNT VALLEY, MD—KCI Technologies, Inc., a Hunt Valley, Maryland-based engineering firm with offices throughout the East Coast, has appointed Frank J. Lucas, PE, senior associate and head of the company’s Electrical Engineering Division.
Lucas has worked as a consulting engineer on high visibility projects with clients in the public and private sectors for more than 23 years. He joined KCI as part of the company’s strategic initiative to expand services in the electrical engineering field. According to KCI Senior Vice President Harvey M. Floyd, PE, head of KCI’s Civil Engineering Group, “KCI is enjoying phenomenal growth. The demand for electrical engineering services is growing, and we’re expanding our presence in several markets, working with military facilities, colleges and universities, medical facilities, and commercial office buildings. Frank has worked with many of our clients. He knows how to manage and deliver successful projects.”
During his career, Lucas served as principal engineer for the new seven-story acute care facility at the University of Maryland Medical System and the Maryland Center for Performing Arts at the University of Maryland College Park. He also designed electrical systems for the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and the Life Science Research Facility at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, and conducted energy conservation studies for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air & Space Museum.
Lucas earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1977. He is a senior member of the Industrial Applications Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
