KCI Technologies Appoints Nathan J. Beil, PE Executive Vice President

Hunt Valley, MD—KCI Technologies, Inc., an engineering firm with offices throughout the mid-Atlantic and southern United States, has named Nathan J. Beil, PE, to the position of executive vice president. Since January 2002, Beil has lead the company’s mid-Atlantic Region, which encompasses four major operating markets: Transportation, Environmental, Site/Buildings/Telecommunication, and Construction Management. The region is expected to contribute nearly $45 million in sales for 2002, more than half of KCI’s expected annual revenues.

KCI President and Chief Executive Officer Terry F. Neimeyer, PE, notes that KCI’s recent strategic, market-based reorganization is generating opportunities and challenges for the company’s Northeast, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic managers. “Diversity is the watchword in the marketplace, and flexibility is the baseline for success among engineering firms,” Neimeyer said. “As head of KCI’s Mid-Atlantic Region, Nate is leading the work of more than 400 employees in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. He’s managed high-visibility engineering and environmental projects at KCI for 14 years, and he brings a level of innovation and technical expertise that will help the company identify and transition into the next hot market.”

Beil joined KCI in 1988 and served as the head of the firm’s Water Resources Division before his appointment as head of the Environmental Engineering Group in July 1995. He attended Lehigh University, where he earned a bachelor of science in civil engineering in 1983 and a masters degree in civil engineering in 1988. In 2000, Beil graduated from the Executive MBA Program offered through the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. He resides in Parkton, MD.

FIRM OVERVIEW—With revenues of $75.8 million in 2001, KCI is ranked near the top 100 engineering firms in the country by the Engineering News Record. The employee-owned, multi-discipline engineering firm employs more than 750 people operating in 20 offices in nine States—Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia—as well as the District of Columbia.
