HUNT VALLEY, MD—KCI Technologies, Inc., an engineering firm with offices throughout the mid-Atlantic and southern United States, has promoted Pradip M. Patel, PG, to vice president. Patel heads the firms Geo-Environmental Division, which provides services in the areas of geotechnical engineering, hazardous waste management, industrial hygiene, and groundwater resources.
Patel joined the company in July 1998, when KCI acquired the Baltimore Office of Spotts, Stevens & McCoy. In the past four years, he lead efforts to enhance the professionalism and profitability of KCI’s hazwaste discipline and helped expand the Geo-Environmental Division to 20 people.
“Industry has seen the benefits of taking proactive measures to ensure healthy conditions in the workplace and in schools, as well as the potential costs of not having effective industrial hygiene programs, such as asbestos abatement,” said KCI Vice President Thomas G. Sprehe, PE, head of the firm’s Environmental Market. “Pradip has been instrumental in raising KCI’s visibility as a resource-of-choice in the IH industrial hygiene, hazardous waste management, and geotechnical markets, allowing us to make a real difference in schools, government buildings, and other facilities, both in Maryland and in Washington, D.C. Our focus is to expand our operation to serve new clients throughout the mid-Atlantic and southern United States.”
Patel is a professional geologist and holds bachelor and master of science degrees in geology/hydrogeology from the University of Baroda, India, and a master of science degree in environmental engineering from Cleveland State. He resides in Hampstead, MD.
