KCI Technologies Promotes W. Stan Hicks, PE, to Vice President

Engineer heads KCI’s new Atlanta, GA office

HUNT VALLEY, MD—KCI Technologies, Inc., an engineering firm with offices throughout the mid-Atlantic and southern United States, has named W. Stan Hicks, PE, to the position of vice president and head of the firm’s Norcross, GA, Office, located just outside of Atlanta. Hicks, who joined KCI in April 2003, brings more than 20 years of experience in highway design and construction.

“Stan was the former director of transportation services in Atlanta for HDR, which is ranked 12th nationally in transportation engineering,” notes KCI Southeast Regional Manager, Timothy P. Donohue, PE. “Not only does Stan have strong working relationships with the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) and the county DOTs, but he is a first-rate program manager who can help us win work and establish a multidisciplined presence in
the State.”

During his career, Hicks served as project engineer and project/program manager on high-visibility highway and interchange projects in the South, including a 12.5-mile segment of Atlanta’s Northern Arc, which included complex interchanges at I-985, I-85, SR 124, and SR 316. He also provided program management services for Cobb, Forsyth, Gwinnett, and Spalding counties and managed the SR 16 Arthur Bolton Parkway widening in Spalding and Butts counties, GA; the Kennedy Parkway Interchange design in Cobb County, GA; and the Palmetto Expressway/N.W. 103rd Street Interchange reconstruction in Dade County, FL.
Hicks earned a bachelor of civil engineering degree from Auburn University in 1982. He is an active member of the American Society of Highway Engineers; Institute of Transportation Engineers; and American Council of Engineering Companies, Georgia. Hicks resides in Alpharetta, GA.
