Engineering Director To Add New Dimension To Raleigh Office

HUNT VALLEY, MD—David M. Koss, PE joined the Raleigh office of KCI Technologies, Inc. on March 21 as Engineering Director. His primary responsibilities will include work on commercial buildings and related facilities.
“Dave brings to KCI 30 years of local engineering experience, not only in the field of general civil engineering, but also in the area of mechanical/electrical engineering. This adds a new dimension to the range of our office’s expertise and will particularly be welcomed by our telecommunications and architectural clients,” KCI Southeast Region Vice President James. W. Blake, PE, PLS said.
Koss is no stranger to KCI Technologies. “I’ve known the staff at the Raleigh office of KCI for more than 15 years, and I’m excited about getting involved in some of the engineering projects that are designed out of this office,” he said.
Prior to joining KCI, Koss worked for eight years as President/Owner of Fenner & Proffitt in Wilson, N.C., where he was involved with multifamily housing, schools, community colleges, and other commericial projects.
Koss’s experience also includes eight years as Engineering Director with HR Associates in Raleigh, where projects included assisted living facilities, renovation of public housing, and work for Southern Bell and AT&T communications facilities. Koss spent 15 years as an engineer with Carolina Power & Light Co., where he worked on design of administrative and service buildings, site development, utility services and other facilities associated with fossil, nuclear, and hydroelectric power plants.
Koss received his bachelor of science in civil engineering in 1971 and his master of science in water resources engineering in 1972, both from Clemson University. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is registered in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Nebraska.
