FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HUNT VALLEY, MD, June 6, 2006—KCI Technologies Inc., a Maryland-based engineering firm with 22 offices in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Southern United States, has appointed Executive Vice President Nathan J. Beil, PE, as its new president, effective June 7, 2006. The announcement was made today on behalf of the board of directors by Terry F. Neimeyer, PE, the company’s current president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board. Neimeyer, who became president in December 1995, will retain his role as CEO and chairman.
Working from KCI’s corporate headquarters in Hunt Valley, Beil will oversee operations for a company employing more than 900 people and posting sales of $104.7 million in 2005.
‘Nate has the ideal qualifications, personality and skill to be our president,’ Neimeyer said. ‘He has been successful in every endeavor he’s undertaken at KCI, and he will undoubtedly be successful as president.’
As executive vice president since 2002, Beil managed four operating groups that make up the company’s Mid-Atlantic region—transportation; environmental; site, buildings and telecommunications; and construction. With nearly 500 employees in nine offices, the region posted $50.5 million in sales in 2005, accounting for roughly half of KCI’s revenues. Since 2001, Beil has been credited with rebuilding the firm’s mechanical and electrical division, transitioning its Construction Services LLC (now KCI Convergent Technologies) from a vertical construction market to a horizontal fiber/copper wire installer and facility manager, and acquiring civil engineering firm Lewis White & Associates of Virginia Beach, Va.
‘What a great honor it is to have this level of support for my leadership,” Beil said. “When I reflect on the accomplishments of my predecessors, I take great pride in our firm. Their legacy has been one of change, strong leadership and growth. I look forward to the many challenges ahead, and I believe that the keys to our success are in customer satisfaction, a strong financial position, and a well trained staff of people who are engaged in what they do.’

Beil joined KCI in 1988, shortly after receiving his master’s degree in civil engineering. Within four years he started the company’s water resources division, which quickly grew to 21 people and became one of KCI’s top-performing business units. In 1994 he was promoted to vice president, and the following year to senior vice president. As the head of KCI’s environmental group from 1995 to 2001, Beil doubled the size of its staff and added two new divisions—public utilities and subsurface utility engineering (SUE).
A two-time graduate of Lehigh (bachelor’s and master’s degrees, 1983 and 1987), Beil completed the Executive Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business Administration in 2000, and the American Council of Engineering Companies’ Senior Executive Institute in 2006. He is a professional registered engineer in Delaware and Maryland, has published numerous articles and design manuals, and has served as a board member for KCI and the College of Applied Science and Technology at the Community Colleges of Baltimore County. His professional affiliations include memberships to the American Water Resources Association (AWRA) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is actively involved with his church, the Prettyboy Recreation Council, and the Boy Scouts of America.
