KCI's Deborah Henson Honored

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HUNT VALLEY, MD—KCI Technologies Inc., a Maryland-based consulting engineering firm with offices in the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, is proud to announce that one of its own will be honored as a rising star in the Central Pennsylvania business community this month. Deborah A. Henson, assistant chief of KCI’s Northeast environmental division, will be recognized at the Central Penn Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 awards reception on October 17.

“The forty winners are a select group of individuals who have achieved notable success and demonstrated strong leadership both within and outside of their chosen field,” says a spokesperson for the event. “They share a commitment to professional excellence and the community.”

An employee-owner with KCI Technologies since 1997, Henson was promoted to senior associate in 2006 and appointed to the firm’s board of trustees. Although most of her projects are based in Pennsylvania, she served as environmental manager for the firm’s $25 million Nextel contract in Tampa, Fla., as well as a $10 million Cingular Wireless contract in Laurel, Md. A wetland scientist by training, with expertise in environmental assessments and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), she currently shares responsibility for budgeting, business development, workload projections, client relations and employee career development.

Henson earned a bachelor of science degree from Seattle University in 1993 and a master of science from Shippensburg University in 1997. She is an active member of the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionals, the Association of Highway Engineers (Harrisburg region), and the Pennsylvania Wireless Association. In addition, she is an active fundraiser for KCI Technologies’ corporate charities, including the American Breast Cancer Foundation. She resides in Dillsburg, Pa.
