HUNT VALLEY, MD, August 18, 2006—KCI Technologies Inc., a Maryland-based consulting engineering firm with offices in the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, has promoted G. Scott Lang, PE, CCM, to senior vice president and appointed him head of its construction management group. Lang will continue operating out of the firm’s corporate headquarters in Hunt Valley.
The division chief for KCI’s vertical construction management division since 2000, Lang takes over a group that posted sales of $13.7 million in 2005. His primary responsibilities will include overseeing the firm’s construction management and inspection operations, including business development, finances and the day-to-day operations of 140 employees.
“Scott has been an asset to the group since day one,” says Executive Vice President Christopher J. Griffith, PE, CCM, head of KCI’s Mid-Atlantic region. “His accomplishments with his division are reflective of his work ethics and integrity. I am confident that the group will continue its success under his leadership.”
Lang joined KCI in 1999 as a project manager in the company’s marine structures and diving division after retiring from active duty with the U.S. Navy Civil Engineering Corp. A naval officer for eight years, he oversaw construction management projects for the Department of Defense in Europe and the United States. Lang received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cornell University in 1982 and a master’s in ocean engineering in 1991. He is a registered engineer and certified construction manager.
