Looks to Expand Services for Company’s Southeast Region

HUNT VALLEY, MD—KCI Technologies, a Maryland-based engineering firm with offices throughout the mid-Atlantic and Southern United States, has appointed Michael T. Ray as Director of Strategic Development for its Southeast region, based in Raleigh, N.C.
With 20 years of experience in engineering, infrastructure management, and architectural and environmental consulting, Ray brings to KCI his expertise in creating strategies for profit, growth and leadership development. As a member of the U.S. armed forces, he has facilitated round-table discussions with senior military engineers at the Department of Defense in an effort to develop focused objectives and improve coordination between uniformed engineering forces. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer for Mulkey Engineers and Consultants, and Vice President for Business Development in the Carolina’s Region of ARCADIS. As president of his own consulting firm since 2004, Ray has helped public and private organizations develop focused business strategies for promoting growth.

With a BA in Architecture and an MS in Science Engineering Management, Ray began his career as a Civil Engineering Officer in the United States Air Force, focusing on infrastructure program management. Currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard, he has served on active duty twice since September 2001, with tours of duty at the Pentagon and in Iraq.
Ray’s volunteer service includes active membership in the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the Wake County Economic Development Board, the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina, the Society of American Military Engineers, the Triangle United Way, and the Wake Education Partnership.
