HUNT VALLEY, MD, June 23, 2006 —KCI Technologies Inc., a Maryland-based engineering firm with offices in the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, has promoted Christopher J. Griffith, PE, CCM, to Mid-Atlantic regional manager. Griffith takes over a region that posted $50.5 million in sales in 2005 and that employs nearly 500 people in nine offices and four operating groups—transportation; construction; site, building and telecommunications; and environmental.
A former officer in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineering Corps, Griffith was hired as an associate by KCI”s construction management group in September 1997. A year later, he was promoted to group manager, and his rapid ascent continued in 1999 with promotions to vice president and then senior vice president.
Under Griffith”s leadership, KCI”s construction management revenues have more than doubled, hitting $13.7 million last year. “Chris has provided exceptional leadership for KCI”s construction management group,” said KCI President Nathan J. Beil, PE. Before joining KCI, Griffith managed multi-million dollar construction projects for the Department of Defense as a naval officer. He received a bachelor”s degree in civil engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1985, a master”s in business administration from Boston University in 1988, a master”s in civil engineering from the University of Maryland in 1991, and a master”s in ocean engineering from the University of Hawaii in 1994. He resides in Bel Air, Md., where he also coaches youth lacrosse.
Griffith will continue working from the company”s corporate headquarters in Hunt Valley, Md. KCI”s Mid-Atlantic region operates in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
