FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
HUNT VALLEY, MD, DECEMBER 28, 2007—KCI Technologies Inc., a Maryland-based consulting engineering firm with offices in the Northeast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, has promoted Joel S. Keels, EIT, CCM, to vice president. With more than 20 years of experience in construction management and engineering, Keels oversees the firm’s Mid-Atlantic construction management division and is leading the group’s continued growth in the vertical construction market.
“Joel is a strong leader who stresses constant communication to manage and link field staff across four states,” says Senior Vice President Scott Lang. “Through his efforts, we have expanded both our construction and pre-construction services across the region and are now getting involved in more projects during the design phase, which will help us better serve our clients.”
Since joining KCI as a construction manager in 1999, Keels has worked on many of the firm’s projects, including the historic St. Mary’s County Courthouse, the Lexington Park Library and the Delaware Recycling Center, all three of which won project excellence awards from the Construction Management Association of America. KCI promoted Keels to operations manager in 2004 and division chief in 2006.
Keels received his bachelor’s degree in general engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1986 and his master’s in construction management from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2005. He is a Certified Construction Manager and a member of the Construction Management Association of America. Keels resides in York, Pa.
