Architect of the Capitol: West Refrigeration Plant Expansion

KCI provided survey and layout services for the $72 million expansion of the Architect of the Capitol central refrigeration plan and modernization of the boiler plant. The Architect of the Capitol power plant is Capitol Hill’s main source of chilled water and steam. KCI was responsible for the survey layout of this multi-story building addition as well as site infrastructure. Because the new building is an expansion of an existing structure, it was necessary for field survey crews to accurately identify the locations of existing column lines, compute the current configuration and extend geometry throughout the addition.
