KCI, in a joint venture with SHW, provided comprehensive architectural/engineering services for the design of a new $55 million middle/high school campus. The campus concept included consolidating middle school and high school functions into a single building. The project consisted of the following major milestones: hazardous materials abatement and complete demolition of the Lincoln Middle School (190,000 SF) and Bell High School (90,000 SF); construction of a new Middle/High School facility (325,000 SF); and construction of a new athletic complex, including tennis courts, basketball, softball, and soccer fields. To meet the challenges of this project, the team has utilized its breadth of design and technical expertise. This expertise included: architectural and interior design services; food service design; stage lighting design; site/civil engineering; landscape design; surveying; environmental engineering (hazmat) survey and assessment and abatement; structural engineering; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering; cost estimating; and educational technology (voice, data, video systems) design.

The project has been recognized by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with an Honor Award for Best Project Team of the Year and was selected as one of the Best of 2006 by Mid-Atlantic Construction Magazine.
