KCI utilized 3-D Laser Scanning technology in order to accurately locate and depict existing concrete pedestals and overhead electrical components at a BGE substation in Baltimore County. The use of 3-D laser scanning technology allowed for the survey crews to safely locate the electrical components with a high level of accuracy.

The scanned data was registered, processed, and ultimately provided to the client in a 3-D CADD format for use in design. Alignments were calculated for extension and layout into the proposed development area. The survey crews were able to utilize calculated geometric data from the 3-D scan to layout the placement of proposed improvements to the site including additional electrical components.
