Chestertown Utilities Commission—Standpipe Inspection

KCI used PE divers to complete an interior inspection of the standpipe located on Scheeler Road in Chestertown, Maryland. The diving inspection found about 50% of the tank interior in good condition; however the remaining 50% had extensive corrosion beneath the coating and isolated pitting. The depth of pits varied greatly, one resulting in a leak. KCI recommended structural repairs where there was a loss of metal, and the application of a new coating. Additionally, an exterior inspection was recommended and consideration was made to combine interior repairs with exterior repairs.
