High Street Streetscape

KCI provided site engineering, landscape architecture, and planning services for the streetscape design of a portion of High Street near a local hospital. The design revitalized the area and created a more pedestrian friendly atmosphere for hospital visitors and the customers of nearby businesses.

In order to slow traffic, the design incorporated traffic calming features including rumble strips of granite pavers and roadway narrowing. Revitalization included the design of pedestrian friendly and aesthetically pleasing crosswalks, lighting, and decorative bollards. KCI prepared four design options that were presented to the Mayor and Commissioners and aided in the selection process.
