Marine Engineering Services

The underwater environment can be particularly harsh on structures and poses unique challenges to inspectors who must evaluate scour, material conditions or new construction. With ADC dive-certified, professional engineers (PE’s) on staff, KCI’s underwater inspection teams offer clients unique and comprehensive engineering and inspection services for underwater subsurface facilities such as bridges, waterfront structures, water tanks, and pipelines. Our highly trained and experienced PE-Divers evaluate submerged structural features, firsthand, and identify the probable causes of failures, communicate findings in professional terms, and follow-up with recommendations for remedial actions. With some regulations and government agencies requiring PE’s to lead inspection dive teams, KCI advocates deploying PE-divers to secure hands-on data for clients.

”...the underwater inspection team should always be led by a registered, licensed professional engineer who is also a qualified diver.”
—Underwater Investigations Standards of Practice Manual, ASCE Manuals and Reports on Engineering Practice No. 101, page 15.

The underwater engineering inspection services that KCI Technologies, Inc. offers, combines the resources of ADC (Association of Diving Contractors) certified PE divers with the full-service capabilities of a large, multi-discipline civil engineering firm, to provide clients with comprehensive cradle to grave marine engineering services.
