With a structural engineering career spanning more than two decades, Liz Phipps is a vice president and practice leader. She has extensive design experience with bridges and bridge inspections throughout North Carolina and is responsible for bridge designs ranging from box culverts to multi-span flyover bridges. Her project experience also includes structural design and inspection for municipal and commercial structures. In addition to managing the transportation structures practice in Raleigh, she also serves as the Raleigh office manager and corporate liaison.
Liz holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a professional engineer in North Carolina and several other states, and has earned several National Highway Institute certifications related to inspection of in-service bridges. Liz serves on the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina Executive Committee as well as the NC Board of General Contractors. She is also a member of WTS, the Raleigh Engineers Club, the American Society of Highway Engineers, and the American Public Works Association.
