Thomas Sprehe is a Senior Vice President and Director of Innovation and Technology. He joined KCI in 1997, assuming the role of vice president and head of the environmental division. In 2002, he was promoted to senior vice president and named manager of KCI’s environmental market, which includes the firm’s water, wastewater, solid waste and geotechnical engineering, hazardous waste and environmental compliance, and industrial hygiene practices. With experience in both the public and private sectors, his expertise is in water and wastewater treatment, solid and hazardous waste management, utility management, renewable energy from wastes, dredged material management, and the application of geographic information systems to public works and environmental management. He has served on a number of statewide task forces relating to drought management, on-site wastewater systems, infrastructure management, and operations training. in 2017, Tom took on the role of director of innovation and technology.
Tom earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He is a registered professional engineer in nine states and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer. He has been active in numerous professional organizations including serving as an examiner for the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and on the advisory board of Johns Hopkins University, and maintaining membership in the American Society of Civil Engineers Maryland Section, the Solid Waste Association of North America, the Water Environment Federation and the American Water Works Association.
