Moose and Crawford Continue to Strengthen KCI’s Presence in the Southeast

May 17, 2022 | Announcements

KCI is pleased to welcome Barry Moose, PE, and Benjamin Crawford, PE, to the firm as client account manager and regional practice leader, respectively.

With distinguished backgrounds in the design and oversight of major transportation design projects in North Carolina, Moose and Crawford will leverage their experience to continue expanding KCI’s depth of expertise in the Southeast while upholding the firm’s reputation for successful project delivery and client relations throughout the region.

In his role as client account manager, Moose will focus his efforts on pursuing new opportunities to further strengthen KCI’s capabilities and reach in the region while building upon existing relationships with clients at the state and municipal levels. He brings to KCI nearly four decades of demonstrable expertise in transportation and highway engineering, transportation planning, and construction management and inspection of large-scale infrastructure projects. Prior to working as infrastructure director and client services manager in the private sector, his extensive career with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) included serving as division engineer managing a multitude of transportation infrastructure projects from conception to final design and construction oversight. Moose is also experienced in alternative project delivery methods, including overseeing NCDOT’s design-build and Public-Private Partnership projects in the greater Charlotte, North Carolina, area.

With two decades of leadership and design expertise, Crawford will lead KCI’s transportation regional practice with the goal of increasing the firm’s service offerings to clients in North Carolina and beyond. Before joining KCI, he gained extensive experience in overseeing roadway design, traffic engineering, and water resources services, including design-build and accelerated schedule project delivery, for NCDOT and a wide range of public sector clients. He has a proven track record of leading business development efforts and cultivating relationships with project owners.

“With the addition of these two industry experts, our team is well-positioned to further deepen our partnerships with local public and private organizations in the Southeast. I am confident that KCI will continue to strengthen our long history of enhancing infrastructure and supporting our communities in the region.”

– Bayne E. Smith, PE, PTOE, Senior Vice President and Transportation South Market Leader
