Operating under a tight project schedule of only four weeks, KCI performed visual inspections of the Jordan Bridge to satisfy construction warranty requirements, which were soon to expire.

Built in 2012, the large complex structure is a 5,375-foot-long toll crossing that carries SR 337 over the Elizabeth River, providing a vital transportation link in the Norfolk region. The inspections included exterior faces of the superstructure and substructure, interior of the box girders using confined-space entry procedures, and underwater inspection of the submerged piers and fender system.

Following the inspections, the team was required to complete the report within one week, as opposed to the standard 30-day timeframe. Even with the tight schedule, our team was able to overcome complex logistical problems, satisfy scheduling requirements, and submit the report under budget and with time to spare.
